About Me

I have been designing and making Sterling Silver jewellery since 2005.

My passion for handmade jewellery started when I became engaged (a long time ago!) and was introduced to a jeweller who designed and made my one-off engagement ring. I was inspired to learn the craft myself one day and so after two children and various jobs I finally had the time to attend a silversmithing and jewellery course at college for 3 years. I have also trained with a master jeweller of 40yrs experience in Birmingham's famous Jewellery quarter for almost 4 years.

Fair to say I have never looked back! All of the items on this site are hand-made by me, occasionally using bought in findings but increasingly using ones made by myself or other specialist artisans.

My inspiration comes from a number of sources, some of them very unlikely, and very often in the middle of the night or during my travels. I am lucky enough to live in an area of outstanding natural beauty (AONB) and take inspiration from the environment, the wildlife and the flora that surrounds me. Wherever and whatever the inspiration comes from, you can be sure that I will always be honest with my designs and hand make it to the best of my ability.

If you prefer to have more input into a personal item, let me know what design you would like and I will let you know whether I can make it for you and how much it would cost. Some examples of previous work are shown in "Commissions".

Because life is too precious to wear jewellery made by machines................. corny but true!

You can email me at Sonia J to discuss your requirements.
